The First Time

Through this project, choreographer Thierry Thieû Niang brings together people from different walks of life : children, adolescents, elderlies, women, and men to question the meaning of “the first time.” Using words, gestures, sounds, images, and stories, the diverse group of participants will explore the themes of welcoming, listening, being present, understanding, and taking care of each other in ways that are intimate, supportive, and encouraging. In this precarious time, it is necessary to keep our sense of community and remain connected, and we can do so by sharing our stories and commonalities.
